Be it as a subject of his digital collage, or as a detail amongst the many in his drawings, Covert's fascination with flora has been evident from his beginnings as an artist. This piece, Poppy, is part of a larger body known as The Portuguese Works, completed between January and June of 1999, while the artist was living in Portugal.
