In 2004 an amazing series of events transpired, when a clutch of ancient scrolls, currently referred to as the Sacred Texts of Carnivora, were discovered in the northern reaches of Greenland, not far from the Lincoln Sea and Canada's Elsmere Island, (found approximately 275 miles north by northeast of Qaanaaq) by a group of archeologists and scholars.
The text is believed to predate the earliest cuneiform writings by nearly 5,000 years, making it, by far, mankind's earliest recorded writings.
As the writings are translated into modern languages a story of amazing depth and scope is slowly being revealed to the world.
It is a story that deals with forces that have ultimately shaped who we have become as a species, and it offers a creation history different than anything we have ever heard before. As the history unfolds we are being introduced to a series of characters that are distinctly inhuman, but who exemplify many of the traits we have come to embody as humans. The implications of this creation myth are staggering and have called many previous texts into question (certainly not least being the Bible).
According to initial scientific dating the scrolls appear to be almost 10,000 years old. Further tests are currently being conducted to more closely establish the exact dates of origin.
Carnivora, is a series of modern works, in multiple mediums, loosely based on and inspired by the miniscule amount of information currently being made available from the preliminary translations of these "documents". I am certain that there is much more information to come, and I, for one, wait with baited breath to see more. If interested in reading what little there is, please check back often as I attempt to coalesce what little information there is into a more reader friendly format.
